David Austen Roses
Without doubt, the best crimson English Rose to date. It is a truly superb variety with exquisite blooms of the richest velvety crimson, gradually changing to an equally rich purple. Deeply cupped at first, the flower soon opens out to a shallow quartered cup. The growth is neat and upright; each stem bearing a number of flowers. This rose has the strong, warm Old Rose fragrance that we expect, but do not always find, in deep red roses. A wonderful, traditional rose with old fashioned, reliable hardiness that you can't beat. I really can't say enough nice things about this rose!
An excellent variety with flowers of a lovely pure apricot - darker in the middle, paler towards the edges; a colour that blends well with other shades; especially dark reds and purples. The blooms are shallowly cupped at first, slowly opening to form a perfect rosette with the outer petals reflexed. It forms a good, branching shrub that is healthy and repeat flowers well. In every way, an excellent garden plant for any kind of garden. Great for adding a nice touch of class!
The flowers of this rose start as perfect little scrolled buds and soon open into the most beautiful, large, rosette-shaped flowers of rich glowing pink. The growth is upright and vigorous and in every way reliable. The most outstanding characteristic of this lovely rose is its beautiful and perfectly-balanced Old Rose scent. This is often described as being the quintessential old rose fragrance. The foliage and growth are similar to that of a Portland Rose, with the typical Portland widely-spaced leaflets. It forms a medium sized shrub which is robust and free flowering. Gertrude Jekyll was a famous garden designer, who has been a huge influence on gardening ever since.
Research worldwide shows that regular spraying of winter wash will reduce your problem dramatically and give you healthier and stronger plants for the new season. 'Garlic Wonder' is the winter wash that I would recommend. It has been proven that garlic's fungistatic and fungicidal activity against fusarium, phytophthora, Phythium and Botrytis assists crops to resist most of the common fungal diseases and aid plants natural resistance to pests.
'Garlic Wonder' should be sprayed on and around trees every two weeks. During the spraying, the characteristic smell of garlic will be evident, however treated areas of plants soon become odourless.
