Nestled in the heart of the Lee Valley, our Garden Restaurant and café offers a relaxed and casual experience, perfectly combining the traditional with the contemporary. Right on the banks of the river, you will find Griffins Garden Restaurant, a countryside haven for all food lovers with it's sunny aspect and warm, friendly service. The 'Spinning Wheel' Restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy a hearty, gourmet meal or a quiet afternoon tea.

"We are in the country, where dinner is still served in the  middle of the day, a belly demands ‘proper’ feeding and these are most certainly man-sized portions. Scratch that— men-sized portions. Neither has quality been sacrificed for volume...the true stunner about these very good main courses is the price – a tenner and no more, exceptional value, indeed"

(review by Taste of Ireland 2013)

"The Garden Restaurant  the bright and airy restaurant in Margaret Griffin’s prize winning Garden Centre in Dripsey, is famous for (at least) two things: Granny and glass. You may not get to see Granny – she’s usually very busy with the baking - but when you take your seat in the restaurant, you’ll see the glass all around you, giving you great views of the colours of the garden centre itself and, on one side, of the Dripsey River.

Indeed, if it is a fine day, you may prefer one of the outdoor tables and perhaps have a view of water skiers on the river below. And it is not just the views that are great. So too is the food. You may have your breakfast here, a substantial lunch or a lingering afternoon tea. And, all day, there are salads and sandwiches to be had.

Most people opt for self-service, but you’ll be served at the table if you wish. In either case, you’ll enjoy the friendly efficient and courteous service - and good value too, especially if they're doing one of their occasional Friday Fiver offers, when some main courses are offered for a fiver - watch their Facebook page for details."

Picture this. The sun shining on a terrasse. Diners enjoying themselves at the tables. It overlooks the water. Here comes a motor boat with a water-skier going zigzag behind it.You are not on the Med. Not dreaming.”
